BBC TX Announced For Wham! 10 Days In China

Following its successful worldwide cinema release, WHAM! 10 Days in China is coming to BBC Two and iPlayer on Saturday 29th August at 9pm.

Produced by Supercollider and directed by Mike Christie, the 90-minute documentary revisits WHAM!’s landmark 1985 trip to China, when George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley became the first Western pop group to perform in the country.

The film brings together meticulously restored, newly digitised and previously unseen archive footage with first-hand accounts from those who were there, exploring the extraordinary cultural moment when East met West and two young stars found themselves at the centre of a historic encounter.

The film has already received a fantastic response from critics following its cinema release, including five stars from The Sun and four stars from The Times, Daily Express, Daily Mirror and Daily Star. The Times called it “quite brilliant” and “easily the best” of the recent WHAM! documentaries.

Now audiences across the UK will get the chance to experience the film on the BBC.
