TV Diversity Work Experience Programme - Closed to March 2018
We recognise that most young people may struggle entering work, through lack of experience, confidence guidance and support. It is considerably harder for those that are from traditionally under-represented or economically disadvantaged backgrounds and who face greater barriers entering the workforce and most importantly the TV industry.
The aim of the programme is to provide the next generation of diverse young talent with some key skills, experience and exposure within our industry that will give them confidence and belief that they can take with them to secure and sustain employment.
Duration: 3 weeks
Our Work Experience Programme gives wide experience in TV Production, ranging from development of ideas, pre-production, production and post-production.
Candidates will benefit from shadowing staff, observing work, joining in where appropriate.
Some hands-on experience will be possible, for example, researching new projects, helping to set up shoots (if needed at the time), general runner duties, possibly assisting on shoots (time-dependent) and assisting in edits, archive research and typing up of discussion documents and filming schedules.
Candidates will be able to demonstrate some knowledge of Zinc Media’s TV output and have an enthusiasm for factual television.
Who you are
You will have BTEC Level 3 or equivalent qualification, in one of the following:
- Television production
You have a positive, energetic and enthusiastic nature. You’re a natural team player who is eager to learn and make the most of the opportunity. You will have an impressive approach to work ethic and will use the placement to make a name for yourself in the industry and leave a lasting impression and ideally, you will have a thirst for factual content, across all platforms.
